Invisalign

What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an innovative straightening system from Align® which uses digital technology and orthodontic techniques to straighten teeth. It works through a set of virtually clear aligners where each set moves your teeth by a small amount and gradually repositions your teeth to give you a smile to be proud of.

These aligners are developed using digital scans of your mouth shape and teeth which are recorded using our state-of-the-art digital scanner. You can easily take out the aligners to eat or to clean and floss your teeth without struggling to reach beyond a series of wires. They are easy to use and very discreet. You will still be able to enjoy all your favourite foods and clean your teeth normally.

The Treatment Journey Consists Of 3 Simple Phases

Smile Consultation

Come in for a smile consultation in order to properly evaluate your smile where your dentist will listen to what you appreciate about your smile and what you’d want to change. They’ll also take a fast and precise 3D digital scans of your teeth using the iTero scanner, and work with you to map out a custom treatment plan that you are happy with. It’s such a fantastic part of the treatment as it allows us to digitally plan how your new smile will look.

Healthy teeth and gums respond the best to the treatment so we will want to carry out an examination first. We make sure there are no underlying problems to worry about.

The ClinCheck

At the follow-up appointment, the dentist will have planned your case in greater detail and be able to explain what it will take to restore your smile. You’ll be able to see how your teeth will move throughout the treatment with the 3D model.

Using the Invisalign ClinCheck software, we can preview how your smile will look after the treatment.

The Fitting

After we approve your treatment plan, we can order your aligners from the lab. Once we receive them, we talk through how your treatment will work. We’ll explain when to move on to the next set of aligners and how to keep your mouth as healthy as possible during your treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s a technique for moving your teeth that is usually done over a few weeks. It works by slowly moving your teeth through a carefully planned sequence of movements over time. After each aligner, you’ll advance to the next one, working your way through the complete set.

When compared to more traditional brace systems, aligners are considerably less obvious and almost unnoticeable when worn. Because you can remove the aligners as often as needed, you may eat whatever you want while receiving treatment, which is much easier to maintain clean your teeth. Fixed braces do not allow for the same level of flexibility. The number and length of visits required over your treatment journey are a lot less compared to a fixed brace system, which needs frequent adjustment, so it can fit in around your lifestyle much more conveniently.

It is suitable for most patients. It is one of the more technologically advanced treatments on the market, and it may straighten even the most complex situations. Before you commit to Invisalign, however, the dentist will conduct a thorough evaluation of your teeth to ensure that you are appropriate for Invisalign and that it can deliver the outcomes for you.

The aligners provide mild pressure to the teeth to encourage movement, which might create some minor discomfort.

We recommend that you wear the retainers we give you for the rest of your life to ensure that your teeth do not slip back into their original position. They are pleasant and guarantee that your teeth stay in their new and improved alignment. If you ever require a replacement retainer, your dentist can help.

With Invisalign aligners, you are able to remove them to eat and drink. One of the benefits is that you can remove them at mealtimes. This means you are not restricted in what you can eat or drink, unlike traditional metal braces. When you replace your aligners after you have finished eating and drinking, you should brush your teeth so as not to cause any damage or discolouration.
